Which file types can I redact? Rapid Redact works on PDF files.
What’s the largest file size I can redact? You can redact any PDF up to 50MB.
Can I redact a password-protected PDF? You’ll need to remove password protection before redacting your document – and remember to re-protect the PDF afterwards if necessary.
How secure are my documents? At Datasite, security is our top priority. We adopt the latest cloud security best practices. The Datasite platform:
- Stores and maintains user information, application data, and logs separately
- Treats passwords with cryptographic hash algorithms
- Encrypts at-rest files with AES 256-bit encryption and regularly creates backups
- Protects in-transit data via Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 protocol
- Captures, analyzes, and actions events in real time
- Accesses files only upon request, supported by document access review and change management processes
Do I need to install software to use the app? The whole process is online, so you don’t need software.
Does Datasite keep a copy of the files I upload? All original (unredacted) and new (redacted) files are stored in your My Documents area. No other users can access them, and you can permanently delete them anytime.
Is Datasite compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)? Yes, Datasite is GDPR compliant in the EU and UK. What’s more, our working group regularly reviews, maintains, and improves our data protection policy.
