Does it work on the Datasite mobile app? The mobile app allows you to scan and push it to My Documents. From there, you can open a file in any of our apps, such as Convert to Excel to start the conversion process.
What if a file I want to convert is password protected? Be sure to remove any password protection before converting a file – and then apply protection afterwards if necessary (and re-protect the original).
Do I need to install anything? No, Convert to Excel is an online tool.
What's the difference between XLS and XLSX Excel file formats? XLS is an older Excel format and XLSX is the most recent version supported by Microsoft – which is why we use that one.
How much information is extracted from the PDF or image? You’ll only be grabbing the information that’s in a table format. You’ll find each separate table in its own section of the Excel file.
Can I convert a photo of a table? Yes, if the quality is good enough. Just scan it with the mobile app and it’ll upload to My Documents. Double-check the result to make sure there are no errors from a poor-quality photo.
Does Datasite retain copies of uploaded files? You’ll find everything in your My Documents area – both your original uploads and your table conversions. No-one else can access them, and you can delete them anytime.
